Halen knows the sparks igniting under her fingertips are dangerous. She has spent her entire life trying to quell the tingly feelings that make her destroy things, but now that she is back in Rockaway Beach, where she watched her father drown, the flames have become impossible to tame. Halen is trying to hold on, but when she is thrust into a mysterious new world, the underwater realm of Elosia, she unravels the secrets of her past and can't help but ignite. As she explores Elosia, she realizes her life has been a lie. And when those who have deceived her come to her for help, Halen must choose—walk away or unleash the magick that could destroy them all.
Fin-Tastic!!
Though the entire book wasn't mermaid based, the under water element was huge in this book. With multiple realms, engrossing characters and quick passed plots, I was truly in literary heaven!
Honestly there wasn't a single character or important detail that was left unresolved. Each person played such a key roll & the author obviously put her heart and soul into every tiny detail.
Halen was so unique, each main character will always have those quirks that drive you nuts, but I think the thing that initially had be drawn to her were her ear plugs. Weird right?! My first thought was, "How messed up are you that you have to wear ear plugs?", after I figured things would only get weirder, so of course I was totally game!
What a twisted web the author wove, with not only Halen but Dax, Tage, Daspar....and even Halen's parents. There is such a huge twist about 40% through the book that I literally had to put it down for a good 30 minutes to process, talk about throwing things for a loop. From this point on doubted the intention of almost everyone Halen knew. (Let's just confuse the emotional unstable girl who can control the elements even more)
Like I originally said, Fin-Tastic, and I stand behind that. Wherever Tiffany Daune takes this captivating series I will definitely follow!

Great review, Jessica! I like how unique this sounds and while mermaid books cna be a hit or miss, my favorite part of them is often the underwater world that they get me to imagine. It sounds like this is a great part of this novel! :)
