Discover the spellbinding sequel to Coral & Bone...
A demented twin sister, a demon hijacking her powers, and a mysterious journal filled with more questions than answers—Halen needs her Guardian Dax more than ever. But if she confides in Dax, she fears he will never forgive her, not after all he sacrificed to help her vanquish Asair. Halen drowned Asair in a tornado of wings—at least, she thought she killed him. Why then does his mocking voice snake through her thoughts, enticing her to surrender her power? Maybe she screwed up—big time—but she will never allow Asair to control her magick. And when Etils' fires threaten the Earth, suspicions surrounding Asair's death rise, igniting restlessness within the realms. Her life in balance, Halen must race time, purge the demon's soul before flames consume the Earth or the Tari strike first.
Fantastic Sequel!
Bang, surprise and thrill through the entire book, and I am happy with how the first book rolled directly into this one without skipping a beat. There are often times when an author can lose sight of how to flawlessly continue the evolution of characters or plots when there's spacing between books, but Ms. Daune did not have that problem!
Halen has won, she destroyed the bad guy, found peace.....the whole shebang.....or so she thought. I love how with the closure that she should have received after Asair disappeared it only caused more turmoil within her. Though I was frustrated with the fact that she seemed to have little faith in Dax, I understand she was afraid to tell him all the things that had happened, but she needed to trust him.
All in all I loved the pace of Curse & Ash, it was a little quicker thank Coral & Bone, and I think that's what making me really excited for the next installment. Plus the character development was getting better and better with each page, so it'll be a ride to see how Halen deals with what's tossed at her in the next book!
