I LOVE Octavia!

Not only does her name just sound awesome, but as a character she has true grit an determination.
One thing that I absolutely loved was how Beth was able to create such a fantasic villian out of Octavia's mentor. Miss Percival is a piece of work....she's too jealous for her own good & that's what I love about her. There are times when I wanted to slap her silly, but I think that all bad guys make us want to do that at least once in a great book. It's funny what jealous can make people do, but all I truly wanted was for Miss Percival to help Octavia with this strange dieases that's killing off their soliders. You would think that having Octavia help her would be a blessing, but it's funny the things she did to almost sabotage her.

Though this was just a short novella prequel to Beth Cato's The Clockwork Dagger I took enmse joy from getting to know this elborate steam punk world. I might not review a lot of steam punk, but this short book reminded me why I should more. From every nook & cramy, to each solider out on the battle field there wasn't a single detail left out!

Personally I can't wait to read the rest of this series, because Octavia's journey is one I do not want to miss out on. Bravo Miss Cato!!
